Project Ruscotia

RuScotia Logo New Big Lottery LOGO

RUScotia Integration Project is a project run by the Russian Education and Support Centre SLOVO and funded by the Awards for All Scotland (through the Big Lottery Fund). The project aims to promote integration of the Russian speaking immigrants in Aberdeen into the local community and inform them about the Scottish culture and relevant aspects of living in Scotland through various events, workshops and publications.
Some events will be purely informative and will cover topics such as:
Employability Skills (CV writing workshop and information on job hunting etc.),
Cross-Cultural Communication and Psychological Aspects of Integration,
Information for Families (a guide for families helping them every step of the way from maternity hospital all the way to day care, schooling system etc.),
Environmental Workshop etc.
Events in the series Language is not the Barrier will aim to encourage active participation of both adults and children from our ethnic minority group in various arts, crafts and sports classes available in Aberdeen, as the best way to learn any language is through using it when you are doing something you can enjoy. Some of these events will be delivered jointly with the Scottish Culture and Tradition (www.scottishculture.org).
We will also have some fun celebrations and nature outings along the way.
